Canterbury Hotels
An historic cathedral and university city, situated on the River Stroud in Kent, Canterbury retains many of its ancient buildings and is a popular tourist destination. The cathedral aside, other notable landmarks include the city wall – founded in Roman times and rebuilt in the 14th century – the ruins of St Augustine's Abbey, perhaps the oldest school in England, The King's School.
Canterbury is served by two train stations: Canterbury East and Canterbury West. The former is 8 minutes’ walk from the city centre; the latter is 4 minutes’ walk away. Canterbury West offers a high-speed rail service to London St Pancras via Ashford, which takes just over 60 minutes.
